It's mainly for home use, so no extra batteries needed. Going with the more expensive Cisco brand for min-pci wifi as I may want to play with Linux sometime down the road and I hear not all mini-wifi adapters are compatible? Which other ones on IBMs list work with Linux? Can I skimp and go with a cheaper model? I do have a PCMCIA Orinoco Gold card I guess I can utilize and go with a cheaper mini-PCI model.

Ram I'm leaving as default 256meg as I'll be getting a pair of 512s from crucial.com

I do have another 30GB 2.5" drive from the Dell Inspiron I can use to bring over. Planning on going with the Hitachi 60GB 7200rpm as the primary down the road when I can find one in Canada instock online.

Also, is it possible to buy the laptop WITHOUT the OS from IBM and get a discount?
