T42 Touchpad button non as springy.... how to fix?
Hi all.
The left button on my touchpad is starting to become very very non-springy.
Probably from so much use.
Any easy way to fix this?
Thanks.

Thank you for your reply.............!!slagmi wrote:easy? If you have warranty, use it, if you do not buy a replacement keyboard
I don't want to say it's impossible to repair it using any available ThinkPad 'parts' keyboard off eBay- but I wouldn't say it's easy. You probabally won't find any instructions on how to do that available.

When I remove my keypads the touch pad buttons are not part of that, you might try getting some quality canned air, like from a real electronics store because the cheaper brands usually coat your equipment with a white film, hold the can upright and try to hold the straw in the crack around the button and give a good long spray, you may have some trash stuck under it. If you are really brave take apart and clean with a fairly benign cleaner, windex and some q-tips.
You did mean the touch pad right? and not the track point, disregard if it is the track point which is part of the kepad.
