Oh, as far as the case, it is magnesium alloy; and some plastic I guess.

The X41 should handle it OK...

It's got an Intel GMA900. That runs between 1/2 to 1/3 the speed of an X600 XT PCIe (that was chosen b/c that was the first review I found) - plenty for CS. And, I've played StarCraft, and smoothly, on a friend's Mobility M1, which is one step above the GPU used in the X20/21.

I'm quite satisfied with my X40. No dead pixels, bright screen, no anomalies.

As for memory, upgrading to 1024 makes a huge difference; everything seems "smoother" and more responsive. If you're worried about Starcraft on an X41, even the lowest spec. graphics card can handle it easily...

I've heard good things abour Crucial and Kinston RAM myself. The main IBM Sweden site (http://www.ibm.com/se/) should have links to 'accessories' that give you an idea of what IBM will charge for their RAM. Generally, though, it's fine to put good quality, non-IBM-branded RAM in your Thinkpad.

I would recommend the Crucial ram. What do you mean by "does anybody know what brand of memory ThinkPad are using..??" If you mean what memory manufacturer IBM uses for memory, they employ an eclectic choice of manufacturers, from Phillips to Samsung.

200-pin SODIMM DDR2 PC2-4200

Just to let you know, IBM sells memory at ridiculously high prices...

I haven't heard much bad or good about TwinMOS.

I've personally had good experiences with Kingston (I've got a rebranded Kingston module in this, and I've got a Kingston UFD (it's dead, but it's my fault, not Kingston's)) and Crucial (I've bought their RAM for both my rigs and others). I've heard good things about Corsair.

So, get the cheapest of those three.

I just installed a Crucial 1 GB SODIMM in my new X41T and it works great. My experience with Crucial has been excellent, including for some custom-built rigs that took awhile to get the right memory-- crucial was great about tech support and sending multiple replacements quickly.
