Which IBM sites apply to one, who own ThinkPad?
Is Personal computing support everything one owning a ThinkPad should mostly visit on IBM's sites? Are there any other interesting sites for such users?

This site and the links in the various posts are probably faaar more helpful than any IBM/Lenovo page for a Thinkpad owner.krma-thkpds wrote:Is Personal computing support everything one owning a ThinkPad should mostly visit on IBM's sites? Are there any other interesting sites for such users?

OK, I will try to explain myself. A few days ago I was trying to get some advice from IBM Slovenia, so I called a number which I found somewhere on the IBM site.
I explained what I need but the person told me that they only do services for business partners and firms. As I checked for other such phone numbers I could find one.
So I started to ask myself if Personal Computing support is the only section of IBM which is meant for me as personal user. I understand that IBM provides numerous services for business partners, but how can one know what is for him and what is not. (think that by buying IBM product I am their customer)
Will this explain the question?

Yes I agree, but I am a bit confused with the largeness of IBM site. Don't really know what is there for me as owner of one of their products and what not.stgreek wrote:This site and the links in the various posts are probably faaar more helpful than any IBM/Lenovo page for a Thinkpad owner.

I think the key to using the IBM site and any manufacturer web site is to dig and dig, keep looking, use the search box. Somewhere in the IBM site you should be able to find what you are looking for, be persistant. I spend hours looking for things I need and usually find them. I found this forum through a google search I did on a problem I was having with my T42.
Not really sure what it is you are looking for but I hope you find it.

There is nothing specific to what I am looking for. I am new to Thinkpads and reading through the IBM site takes days. And there are many things which are not supportive for someone like me. For example IBM's program licenses and its support.
I really think they should improve the navigation through the site. Separate sections which don't belong together. Maybe building a map or index... I don't know... IBM does a lot of different stuff and everything is located on one address on the web.
For now I figured out that most convenient for one using a ThinkPad is IBM Support and Service section whereas it can detect your system and thus make it much much more easier to find what is there for you.
