blue tooth possibility with x24

#1 Post by jealouse » Fri Sep 02, 2005 12:52 am

i'm thinking about adding bluetooth capability to my x24. i have thought about this for a while and come up with two possible solution.

1. add a cf bluetooth module to x24, since it's got cf card slot that i have no use for. if i go with this route, what's the good and proven cf bluetooth module? anyone have any experience with belkin cf bluetooth that i can get pretty cheap on ebay? the only concern is that it doesn't seem to come with neither w2k nor winxp drivers. any suggestion?

2. it appears that blue tooth daughter card is available. however, i'd have to remove ethernet daughtercard. this shouldn't be a big deal since mine's got built-in 802.11b and i hardly ever used ethernet no more. do u guys anticipate any problem with this route?

many thanx in advance

Well, nobody ever thought that CF bluetooth would ever be used in a PC.

The best bet is to find a company that makes both a CF and a PCMCIA/CardBus bluetooth card, buy their CF bluetooth card, and use their PC Card drivers.

As for bluetooth vs. ethernet... You don't have a BDC slot? Still, if you don't need ethernet, go that route...
