Max Temps seen on a T-42P 2.0MHz ATI FGL T2

#1 Post by Pren » Fri Sep 02, 2005 10:27 pm

When I am playing a game ( Everquest ) I have noticed my Temps getting as high as 66C when the machine is running all out.

I have been using CHC for several weeks now so I am not sure if this is the normal range or if I have just started to notice it since I started monitoring the temp with CHC.

Could others with a similliar machine let me know what their max temps are when pushing the system ?

Also, I am quite surprised that the fan seems to be barely running when I am at these temps, makes me wonder if I am just feeling convective heat coming out of the exhaust ?

Thanks kindly,

Pren

66 degrees celcius is quite normal for intensive work (e.g. games). I wouldn't worry about it at all. In fact, I've heard of some laptops that have gone up to ~80 degrees...

66 deg is great for Everquest. I used to hit 88 deg with Everquest and would start passive cooling (slowing the CPU). That was pre-CHC.
