What's yer Skype?

#1 Post by DavidNZ » Mon Sep 05, 2005 3:58 am

So, before I get the HDD in a few weeks, am trying all the stuff I've always wanted to try but didn't want to load up my system. Anyway, am trying Skype, so if anyone wants to ring: davidnz9090. :)

Works great! Not into IM or anything but, it is simple. Less gadgety than most.

I actually uninstalled it. For some reason, after I installed Skype, Software Installer (IBM) wouldn't work.

Dunno about Google Talk - from what I've heard, the quality is better.

I saw last week that ebay is justifying the $4 Billion price they are paying for Skype by saying that they will be able to "monetize" subscribers for between $2 and $12 each per month... by selling their contact info to marketers.

Just an update - installed the beta of version 2 (Skype) and does not appear to interfere with Software Installer. Nice.
