Hi,
I have a 266874U T43 with the atheros card and Netgear MR814v2 wireless router. When I have WEP 128bit enabled, my connection drops periodically. It happens regardless which tool I use to configure the WiFi (Windows native or IBM Access Connections) When I disable wep, it works like a charm. I have updated the firmware and the drivers to the latest one. Can anyone shed any light on the problem?
Thanks
Nick

I remember having the same issues right after I got my T42... but the problem stopped... I don't know why it stopped though.
Maybe you could find some help here:

Most random connect / disconnect problems are cheap, ineffective product. Intel cards fall in that category (yes I have them, used them and thrown them in the garbage). Routers are another big problem. I have everything common except for Netgear, and only the Netopia holds up as a fairly decent router. LinkSys can be made to work with the right firmware. If wireless is critical to you, get the IBM Atheros card and a Netopia commercial router and dropouts will vanish. ... JD Hurst
