14.1" versus 15" heating issues?

#1 Post by milesrbruce » Mon Sep 05, 2005 11:13 pm

Can anyone comment as to heating issues with 14.1 and 15" Thinkpad models?

I have a 14.1" that gets hot and a 15" that runs much cooler.

Do the 15" models tend to run cooler than the 14.1" models?

They probably have larger heatsinks that can dissipate a fair bit more of the heat from the CPU than the heatsinks in the 14.1" laptops. It would make sense that the larger computers run cooler.

Under the hood they have same motherboard in both models (14.1 and 15) but a bigger body in 15in models makes air ventilation more effective than 14 in. that "might" be a reason.

This is my theory....
