Replace Key Cap on X20

#1 Post by lindaracine » Tue Sep 06, 2005 6:52 pm

Hi...

I had a sticky "o" key on my X20, so I pried it off, but have been unable to get it reinstalled. Does anyone have instructions for reattaching keys?

Thanks!

Read that thread...

It sounds like it'll take a LOT of patience. IIRC, you can find a new keyboard for about $50, which may just be worth it, especially if you're missing parts of the key.

Otherwise, superglue the thing on. It won't be right, but it'll work, and you won't need a new keyboard.

Thanks... Unfortunately, the X20 keycap mechanisms are different than those in the other discussion. I plan on ordering a new keyboard tomorrow, but thought I'd give this a try first.

Linda, if you did not break anything, all you have to do is position the key in the right place and push into position using reasonable force... Now, you will have to determine what is "reasonable" I guess.
