T42 max resolution 1024x768 ?

#1 Post by joels » Tue Sep 06, 2005 11:40 pm

Just received my new laptop(IT spec'd it), I'm upgrading from my die hard T30. But the screen is HUGE, and I can't set the resolution above 1024x768 on the LCD, can this be true?

I thought I read somewhere that non IBM drivers(direct ATI or otherwise) could help?

any advice appreciated, thanks
J

Some models have maximum native resolution of 1024x768 (XGA); some have max resolution of 1400x1050 (SXGA+) and some 15" T42p have max resolution of 1600x1200 (UXGA).

Which model do you have? You probably have an XGA one and there is nothing you can do to increase the native resolution.

I have the 2378-FZU , and you're right, 1024x768 is max resolution. I can't believe it. No wonder everything looks so LARGE. My older T30 can do 1400x , even 2048x, I personally like running at 1280. I guess people like 1024x max?

Hopefully I can switch mine. thakns for the reply.

i wish you good luck. normally they wont switch this because you ordered it as an XGA (1024x768) machine. Hope for some goodwill...
