600x wireless problems

#1 Post by janedoefrmthehbr » Wed Sep 07, 2005 10:47 am

Hi, Am I right to think the 600x will only use a 16 bit card? I can't seem to connect with our home network. From what I have read,it seems people put in an internal antenna, without the courage and knowledge to do this,is there an external antenna available? Thanks for any help,I'm running low on advil. :(

You are not correct. The entire 600 line will use 16-bit CardBus cards. An internal antenna is mighty cool, but not all that useful, and it is a pain to install (having done it myself).

I use a LinkSys WPC54G CardBus card in my 600X.

Hmmm, if the 600 only has 16-bit slots how can a 32-bit card like the WPC54G work in there ? Does it just fall back to 16-bit 802.11b ?

Woops again. I meant to say they will all use 32-bit CardBus cards. Eesh. Bad fingers!
