Anyone seen X41T and another X series side-by-side ?????
Anyone seen X41T and another X series side-by-side ?????
I just got an X41T tablet and think that the screen on it is extremely nice.
Very sharp, and quite bright.
Does anyone have an X31/32 or X40/41 and an X41T ???
If so, how would you compare the tablet's screen quality to the other X series that you have?
Have you seen them side-by-side????
Please let me know.
Thanks,
Andrew

I had both the x41 and x41t together for about 2 weeks. Didn't really notice much different in quality. Only thing obvious is the writing surface on the x41t. Since it has a glass top, if you look close enough, you will realize that there is this layer of glass on top of the pixel. The x41 seems like the pixel is right there on the surface.
Thanks, anyone else?
I think that the viewing angles on the X41T are going to be obviously wider by far than the regular X series.
Any other comments, please?

My friend has an X41t and I have an X41.
Something interesting I noticed was that my screen looks a little brighter than his (but its really really close). It might just be that additonal layer of glass or whatever over the screen, but it seems like my screen could be the same as his. This is perhaps contrary to what everyone has said... But, for all comperative purposes, they're the same. Difference is almost unnoticeable.
The viewing angle is definitely better on the tablet though.

I compared my X41T and X40 side by side the other day. There are differences noticeable when side by side, but I hesitate to generalize conclusions because in my experience there are often noticeable manufacturing variations from one unit to the next even of the same model (some cases I suppose could be attributed to units from different batches having used different display components, but that's not always the case). For example comparing same-model devices in the past showed display differences such as one having a bluer tint, one being slightly brighter or more uniform brightness, etc, etc. My experience was mostly with various PDAs and some laptops...
But for what it's worth, my X40 definitely seems to have a bluer tint (or maybe my X41T has a more non-bluish tint?
). As expected my X41T has a much wider angle of view both horizontally and vertically. Especially, my X40 screen appears washed out when viewed at an angle from the top of the screen. I think my X41T also has better contrast but again that could just be due to the wider angle of view?
I do think my X40 might be brighter overall, but the better contrast/angle-of-view on the X41T makes text look better on the X41T.

One more thing, while I appreciate that the X41 Tablet is the lightest convertible notebook tablet on the market, when comparing side by side I can't help but notice that it's considerably bigger than my longtime X40 notebook. The X41T is like somewhere in between our X40 and T43...
It's silly, but I've always liked that my X40 with standard battery is physically smaller than a letter-size paper (WxD). I can completely hide it under any piece of paper. Whereas the X41T is considerably deeper (and thus looks considerably taller with the screen flipped open).
