IBM 380XD bios

#1 Post by thegoat » Fri Sep 09, 2005 6:21 am

Hi,

I've been given an IBM 380XD which has Windows 2000 but which I'd like to install Windows 98 on. I can get into the bios by holding F1 while I turn it on, but still can't seem to get it to boot from the floppy drive. I know the floppy drive works as I can boot into Windows 98 and see the files on the disk.

I can get into startup in the BIOS and there is an option FDD1, PCMIA etc, but I can't seem to get it to permanently select the floppy drive as the 1st boot device. Can someone tell me how I configure the BIOS to boot from the floppy drive?

Thanks

If it's like other EZSetup systems, click Reset. That should do it by itself, because it will use a default boot order.

If not, click the items in the order in which you wish to boot. Typically, floppy then CD then hard disk. Click Exit and restart.
