T43 compared to the Asus V6V, has anyone tried both?

I've been hearing and reading a lot of good things about the Asus V6V which on the surface component wise seems to be very close in specs to a mid level T43. The V6V also uses a better video card than the T43 other than the "p" models. I realize support wise the T43 is sure bet but I'm curious if anyone here has ever used the Asus V6V and what your thoughts are. It also looks very nice.

My friend has a V6V, and it looks fabulous. The sturdiness is comparable to a T4x series, and it's whole inner surface is basically "metal". However, the aluminum palmrest acts as a heatsink on intensive work...

Personally, I prefer the Asus W3V over the V6V...

I agree with the comment from pphilipco re heatsink. V6V noticeably hotter on palms than e.g. the T43.

The 2 V6Vs that I've tried have both looked fantastic, but seemed to get very hot on the palmrest. Noticeably hotter than other 'similar' ASUS machines (e.g. M6 series). Dont know whether this is related to the thinner V6V having more trouble getting rid of heat.

philipco - any experience with heating on the W3V - comparison with T43 ??
