Thinkpad desktop extenstion....

#1 Post by SaberX » Mon Sep 12, 2005 7:28 pm

I have an older Thinkpad 390.(cel366,256ram,10gig).I'm running XP Pro.The video on the 390 is 2.5Meg NeoMagic MagicGraph256AV.
I have the 14.1" TFT thinkpad screen and a 17" CRT monitor connected.
All i'm getting is the same screen on both ,the LCD and CRT .
I know on some model's you can have the desktop so it expanes onto the 17" CRT.like a duel display mode.
I have looked for NeoMagic 256AV drivers for XP but cant find any.All that is on IBM.com is drivers for Win98.
I have looked evey where in display properties and dont see it.
Any one know if this can be doen?

It might be impossible because the chipset doesn't have enough memory to hold the contents of two screens. How much video memory do You have?

cheers,

Thats it i think.Never even thought about that.
There is 2.5 meg video onboard. Not very much.
Time to get a new Thinkpad i guess.
