R40 upgrades

Hi all,

I'm planning to upgrade my dear old R40 (2897-23U) and I'll need your help.

1) Is it possible to add bluetooth to this model ?
2) If yes, which card (BMDC II / BMDC III / other ??) is recommended ?
3) My Laptop came with a 1.3Ghz Banias, can i upgrade to a 1.8Ghz Dothan ?

If your R40 has blank CDC slot. you can add BDC01 or BMDC200 for BT function. You can upgrade CPU to higher Mhz.

Yes you can upgrade it with BT with the BMDC.

Thanks for your feedback.

I bought and installed the BMDC200. I had to install the BT antenna as it didn't come preinstalled on my R40 model. Bluetooth works flawlessly. =)

Concerning the CPU:
I know I can upgrade the CPU to higher Ghz, but the problem is that in the BIOS upgrade readme I saw that it supports max PM1.7Ghz Banias, which I believe is the fastest Banias.

Will it really work if I install a 1.8 Dohan on my R40 ?

only support P-M 1.7(Banias). 100% confirmed by test of top ibm fans on R40.
