Do I have to enable devices to upgrade its drivers

#1 Post by krma-thkpds » Wed Sep 14, 2005 6:38 am

I have some devices in my t43p disabled. Infrared (I don't use) and dial-up modem and touchpad (I use track point. Do I have to re enable those devices first if I would like to upgrade its drivers? Will Software Installer even search for drivers for the devices which are disabled? And will the upgrade to the newest driver be successful if I leave those devices disabled (if upgrade is possible in this state)?

I had my Intel PRO wireless device turned off, but the software updater detected a new version. I'm not so sure it has to be on but installed.
