narrowed down my choices, now which one?

OK. Think I have picked out 3 models that will suit my needs. First two, only difference is the wireless card.

Last one is a p model

All 3 are T42's

I would add memory from crucial to get these to 1gb.

recommendations? I think the first two just come with the 6 cell battery?

Just ordered the 2373GVU

I just ordered the 2373GVU with the mini dock + the slim ultrabay 2nd hdd adapter through the EPP program. Supposed to ship in two weeks fwiw.

Reason I went with that model: Modest extra cost seemed worth it for the upgraded graphics, the atheros abg card, the 9 cell battery, the 60 gig 7200 rpm hd. (which I wanted because I already have one of those (love it) and it is easier to clone identical drives for backup (no space issues). Already have an extra 512 stick of pc2700 ram to put in it after I get my data transferred from my T30.

I wonder what would happen if I just stuck the 60 gig hd from my T30 in the primary slot of the new machine. I imagine XP would need to be reactivated but that wouldn't be a problem since it hasn't been reactivated ever so wouldn't MS just reactivate it online or on the phone. On the other hand, I suppose it would be better to just upgrade the new XP and drivers that comes with the new machine, and then reinstall all my programs and transfer the data over; a hassle but I would end up with a fairly clean new install.

I am probably leaning towards the GVU, as it's only $100 more. Better in every way I guess.

Pae77, let me know when yours arrives and let me know how you like it!
