ThinkPad's round-the-world trip!

My thinkpad went from HK/HK to KY/US to OR/US via UPS. The 3 day wait in KY/US was kind of annoying.

Now I get to pay $300 to FedEx International Priority it from OR/US to Balad/IQ. I think it will probably go from portland to memphis to koln to dubai to Iraq in 2-4 days.

I wish IBM had been more flexible and just shipped HKG to DXB to Iraq and saved ~12 days and $400 in shipping. Or let me pick it up in Kowloon.

if you have an APO it is about $35 for priority mail, insured..
have sent more than a few to baghdad that way..

it is less to germany if you can get it there..

and about $225 to dubai the last time i sent a thinkpad there..

i guess the question is why did you buy from lenovo/ibm when there are a bunch of resellers and one or two will ship to iraq..

None of the resellers had 2668-Q2U pricing listed or availability. I also took advantage of the alumni discount.
