How long does the Warranty Repair take? - Annoying problem

#1 Post by kaplanfx » Thu Sep 15, 2005 9:01 pm

I've been really happy with my thinkpad but after only 3 months it has developed a quite annoying problem. The power plug on the ac adapter is lose when its plugged in such that the plug can jiggle around and at certain angles does not draw power so when im on ac if I move the laptop around a bit it may jump between ac and batt power causing my profiles to jump around and generally being annoying. Everything else about the laptop is great, but I'm guessing they will have to replace the motherboard, so im wondering to anyone else in CA how many days does it typically take from when you ship the laptop out till when its returned? I'm going to wait a few weeks as im currently rebuilding my desktop PC and don't want to be without any computer at home, but I'd like to know approximately what I can expect on turn around, and any hitches I should be aware of.

Edit: Ok this is for a T42 but I realize this probably should have gone in the Thinkpad General forum. If any mods think it should be moved, please move it, thanks.

They are prett quick. I had a problem with my screen, which needed to be replaced. I shipped it out Friday from my house, and it arrived back at my house the following Tuesday. All shipping is overnight, so it doesn't really matter where you are located.
