Strongly considering an X41T

#1 Post by benz » Fri Sep 16, 2005 11:10 pm

I'm in a bit of a situation here: I just got my T42p (2373GVU) a little over a year ago. It has been doing fantastically, absolutely no problems and has fulfilled all my needs. However, after trying out an X41T at my school, and considering that I have no need for the extra computing power of the T41 series, I really would like to replace this with the tablet. I take down several graphs and chemical structures in my classes each day, rarely any large blocks of text. Additionally, I want the smaller form factor and convertability (I actually find the keyboard to be cumbersome at times).

My questions are these: How much do you think a T42p as I have in great condition would bring? Is there a 'trade-up' program in place either here or on IBM's site? And whats a going rate for the mid-level tablet? And is there a much better brand out there for tablets, or have Thinkpads once again ruled? :P

My 2 cents...

The X41T really impressed a lot of people when it came out. Lightest convertible notebook tablet (without sacrificing the 12" screen nor keyboard), legendary ThinkPad strengths. Some reviewers can't seem to stop drooling over it :D

If you'd prefer a slate instead, you could also check out Motion Computing's LE1600 (or smaller LS800) tablets...

i have been known to take trade-in's from trusted customers..

also, it just happens that i have ONE only X41T in stock...
18666SU..

i must say that would be better to resell any used thinkpad directly rather than do a trade in..
you will get more than i would be able to give since i would need to resell the trade in item..
