A good notebook sleeve for a T42/T43?
A good notebook sleeve for a T42/T43?
I am looking for a really good computer sleeve for a T42/T43 that I am going to be purchasing. So far the only brand that I have heard was Shinza. Are there others out there?
I apologize if this is the wrong place to place this thread. Let me know if it is the wrong place.
Thanks,
Daniel

Check out the sleevecase at www.sfbags.com. Also, do a search on this forum for sfbags.com and you will see all of the great reviews of the product. They are great. Great design and great build quality.

Expensive, yes. Worth it, totally. :2 thumbs up: from me.kaplanfx wrote:Haven't used the others, but I too am very happy with my waterfield bag (sfbags.com) as it seems many of the users of this forum are. Expensive but in my opinion its worth it.
A friend of mine recently returned his Shinza to get a Waterfield bag (sfbags.com) after looking at mine. He didn't even care that he lost some bucks returning the Shinza.
When I told him how much it cost once he saw my case, his face was like this:
After he received it, and I asked him how he liked the case, his face turned into this:

I'm a big fan of the waterfield (sfbags).
I have the sleeve with the cover, and strap and pouch. Carry around my T42 and a textbook in the pocket behind the main sleeve. The pouch holds my ac adapter, 9 cell battery and other assorted goodies.

IBM ThinkPad T42 (2378-FVU), 14.1" SXGA, ATI 9600, 512MB, 40GB, DVD-ROM/CDRW, 6 cell and 9 cell battery, Waterfield bag (sfbags.com)
I've gone through a dozen bags and the WaterField (sfbags.com) Cargo is my favorite by far. I have the medium size Cargo in all black ballistic with the Para-Gliding buckle.
I'm using a Timbuk2 Quilted Laptop Sleeve (Large) which fits nicely inside the medium Cargo. the Large Timbuk2 sleeve can hold either the 14 or 15" T43's.
If you're buying a new bag from sfbags, I would spring for one of their sleevecases - I'm only using the Timbuk2 sleeve because I already owned it.

yes, the site is a bit confusing, but they recommend the 17 size.IWC-Lover wrote:What size Waterfield Sleevecase (sfbags.com) will best fit a T43p which has the extended 9 cell battery? Their site is a bit confusing about this. Thanks.
NOTE that "17" does not mean your laptop is 17" long... as their sizing chart does not seem to be measured in inches.

I was also in the market for a sleeve 3 months ago...and I came here and found that many vouched for sfbags.com!!! I travel frequently and was looking for something nice and easy to lug around my tp T43 15" w/ 9 cell. Here is what I ordered @ sfbags.com
1 SleeveCase Horizontal with Flap size no. 17 $55.00
1 Suspension Shoulder Strap & D-rings for SleeveCase $18.00
1 PiggyBack Horizontal $22.00
To this day I completely love the above setup and I think the shoulder strap is miles ahead of many of its other competitors. I know this for a fact after trying multiple laptop bags. To cut a long story short, go with Waterfield bags and you wont go wrong!
