Why the "t" and "m" model numbers?

#1 Post by bhtooefr » Tue Sep 20, 2005 9:45 am

Kinda curious...

Before, e and p were the letters used when a letter was used, like this:

R50 - base model
R50e - economy model
R50p - performance model

So, what do T and M stand for, and why that? After all, the R and T series have 14.1" and 15" screens, and don't get separate model numbers...

Also, T is 14.1, M is 15.4, correct? I keep getting confused on that one...

Never mind that the X41 Tablet is often referred to as the X41t... Lenovo's got a headache on their hands...
Current: 365XD (120 MHz, 72 MiB, 6.4 GB, 4x CD-ROM, 10.4" TFT)
Past: T61p 15.0" QXGA, T60p 15.0" QXGA, X61 Tablet SXGA+, R51e 14.1" XGA, X21

I don't even think the Z60t and Z60m should've been in the same series, since they're different in many ways. Like the t using 9.5mm Ultrabay Slim, and the m using 12.7mm regular Ultrabay Enhanced...
