Can you set up the fingerprint reader for use on websites?
Is there a way to enable use of the fingerprint reader to take the place of passwords for say your email or other password protected sites?
thanks

There was a fellow on this forum who talked to IBM, who said there was talk about the next major version of the fingerprint reader software to incorporate website-specific password entry (in about 1 year's time), but this was a few months before the Thinkpad line was bought by Lenovo.
No word on this since then...
Would be a very nice function indeed...

you can turn on IBM Client Security by installing IBM Client Secuirty Software. that will let you setup webpages with fingerprint.
you will have four ways to set up,when you swipe your finger
1. fill in only password automatically, (you enter username and hit enter)
2. Fill in only password and send enter. ( you enter username)
3. fill in User name and password (you hit enter)
4. fill in user name and password and send enter.
but you have to set up all field manually once.

Just when you think you know it all. J/K'ng
I personally don't have a Fingerprint Reader. I remembered reading several months ago that for passwords at websites, only IE worked. I know the software has been updated since then, but I hadn't seen this subject covered in awhile.
I happy (but humbled) to see that I am wrong.

When you turn on embedded security chip and install Client Security Software.
it's same way you configure fingreprints for IE. you open the page and double click on security icon in system tray. in that dialogue there is one red color + inside a circle (kinda target sign) you drag and drop it on the textfield or password field.
when prompted for the values you enter your password and user name (I've given combinations in my post see upside)
and you are done.
only thing you have to do is when you opne this page you have to click on that security Icon and swipe your fingure. you are set.

Any other tips?
You could try Opera 8.5. It is now free and ad free. http://www.opera.com
