Is my hard drive crashing?

#1 Post by teamdaddy » Wed Sep 21, 2005 7:28 pm

I'm getting a loud noise from the left front of my T-23 (as looking at the screen). It's a loud clicking noise and my computer is really starting to act up. It is slow to respond and sometimes will want to freeze up. I was wondering if it could possibly be the hard drive going bad? Any advice on how to troubleshoot would be appreciated.

Well if you want to test your hard drive, IBM provides a "drive fitness test" program you can download and run to test your hd. You can download the dft here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... HXKVX.html
