Changing the WI-fI CARD IN A t41p

#1 Post by milesrbruce » Wed Sep 21, 2005 7:57 pm

I just purchased a T41P that has 802.11B wi-fi card. Can I purchase a better (A,B,G) card and upgrade the current configuration?

If so, what is the best WI-FI card available?

Thanks for your input.

YOu can go to IBM website and get IBM b/g or a/b/g card. Just look up in the parts section for your model number and it will tell you which wi-fi card you should purchase.

I upgraded the Wireless card in my T41 (2378-DLU) with IBM's 11a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI adapter #31P9701.

I upgraded my T41p, 2373GGU with the IBM / Intel 2200BG. No problem at all.
Have a look at this video. http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-51461

The 2200BG works fine for me.

I have some problems with the Intel 2200BG, but I'm not sure if it's the card's fault. With several different access points, having both the 14" and 15" side by side (both have 2200BGs) causes one (usually the 15") to lose the connection permanently (until hard reset). No such problems on the old B-only Centrino chipset, but that was on a different brand of laptop as well.

Likewise. It's a great card and quite cheap too!
