Paint ?

#1 Post by mrkuhn » Thu Sep 22, 2005 1:31 am

Hi :) , just got a 600 E. P II 366 MHz, 128 MB RAM :(, 6 GB HD, CD-ROM :(. Not to be used as a main PC, just a take away where basic one. Main is Athlon 3200, 1 GB, 160 GB HD, CD/RW, DVD/RW. Just thinking about a different paint....a nice mirror black, or <ducks from the black loyalit> a mirror bright white . From my understanding, it is very hard to get rid of the rubber on the case. Anyone know any kind of paint that can go over it and stay? Thanks for any help.

No, you can't paint over that. Standard procedure would be sandpaper working from small grain down to eventually extremely fine grain.

Then good 'ol Krylon will stick.

You could always seal the screen, keyboard, ports an vents off and take it to Maaco...

I've heard of some intresting paint that "bonds" at a molecular level to exhisting paint. The main issue with the "rubber" as I've heard is it is very hard to get rid of it. I've heard of using airplane paint remover to get ride of it, but I don't think I want to try that .

find a 600 bezel w/a peeling wrist rest.. because as I can attest to with my first 600, once a little starts to go, it ALL comes off..
