T40 Sound card & Speakers

I am looking into getting some 2.1 speakers for my T40. Would i need a sound card like the PC Card Audigy, or is the Thinkpad good enough.

I am very into Home Audio, hoever i dont want to spend more than 4150 for some computer speakers.

Any reccomendations?
