Regaining Access to My Documents

#1 Post by AlphaKilo470 » Thu Sep 22, 2005 9:22 pm

I just had to delete my Windows folder and re-install Windows XP because my install got messed up and now my computer won't allow me into the My Documents folder used by the previous instal. I get an error message saying "Access is denied."

Does anyone know how I can get past this security barier so I can once again access my own files? If so, any and all help would be very much appreciated, thanks.

Piece of cake.

Basically you can find the answer in my tip on THIS POST. Just leave out the last sentence regarding deleting the folder.

Glad to hear it! :D

I should apologize for being flippant and calling it a 'piece of cake'. I don't really find Windows security a piece of cake, but gradually I'm understanding parts of it.
