Good/bad experiences with Kahlon 128 memory chip for 600?

#1 Post by cure » Fri Sep 23, 2005 1:34 am

In the following thread a 600 user casts doubts on the compatibility/quality of the 128 chip from Kahlon:

The chip sells for $24 shipped at the moment from the company website and would be in principle perfect for upgrading my 2645-A1U.

But I am now rather dubious after reading the experiences described in the above link.

Can anyone confirm or deny troubles with his memory chip?

Thanx.

You should take a look at this thread.

As I posted in this thread, some early TP600 detect only half of the memory
module put in the second slot. This is purely due to TP600 design flaw.
If your TP600 belongs to this case, you have to abondan the half no matter
which vendor you buy memory from. I tend to believe that the trouble
reported in the thread you point out was also caused by the same reason.
Kahlon didn't do anything wrong.

I don't know how to check if your TP600 falls into this case. You have to just
try and see what happens.

Although not for a 600, I have recently bought from Kahlon and was very happy. They have good prices, and if it doesn't work for some reason, they have a money back guarantee, so you're just out some time.
