T41 LCD screen is very dark after awhile.

I own a T41 2373 SA7 for slightly more than a year. The LCD screen recently goes dark within a few minutes after booting up. It would appear that someone "turned off the lights" on my LCD. But after a few Fn-F3, it would be back up for a few seconds before the backlight dies again. I suspect it is due to the LCD backlight being faulty.

Is there anyway to get it back up? Do you think sending to the service centre would result in my HDD bein formatted for such a problem?

Also the LCD screen seems to be "warped". It is bending upwards from the middle. Is this normal?

i don't know about your "warped" screen but did you check your power settings? sounds like my laptop that dims the backlight when not in use when its unpluged.
