Can memory be upgraded to 2GB on A31?

Hello:

Can the A31 (2652-D3U) be upgraded to 2GB? Does this require any BIOS upgdates? I plan on using IBM 31P9834 (1GB) sticks - no support for Kingston, Crucial, etc where I live.

Yes - and the latest BIOS and Controller will do.
