A31: What harddisk to use?

#1 Post by crg7 » Sun Sep 25, 2005 10:28 am

Hello:

Hate troubling you again.
Hitachi website (http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/support/table2.htm) lists two types of interfaces: parallel ATA and serial ATA for Travelstar drives. IBM's site says the interface is "ATA-100 (Enhanced IDE)".
Which is the correct one for A31? Does this work as primary drive? How about in Ultrbay 2000?

Best

The answer turns out to be Parallel ATA drives.
See http://www.pc.ibm.com/us/accessories/storage.html#hdd

sorry didn't see this one. Yes - paralell. Looks like the only thinkpad supporting serial ATA is the Z60 series.
