SoundBlaster Audigy PCMCIA Card

#1 Post by atct86 » Sun Sep 25, 2005 7:29 pm

Has anyone used this with there Thinkpad?

I am considering buying one, but I do not know If I will notice the difference compared to the internal speakers.

Also, does anyone know of any 2.1 speakers which have an optical in, since i belive this would provide the best quality

I used to have it installed. It worked flawlessly. The sound is very good. What drives me nuts you CANNOT listen to the Thinkpad's speakers when card's software is installed (headphones is the only option). Can you believe it? If your thinkpad works as a desktop it's a great upgrade. Otherwise forget about it. I want to keep my machine mobile so I'll be selling the card on Ebay in couple of days.

It has gotten rave reviews. Literally it's an Audigy 2 card in PCMCIA form factor. If I listened to music/sound through headphones, it would be my first upgrade.
