wrong install order, a/b/g now in but bios needs update-how?

I'm trying to help a friend who installed his new A/B/G Mini-PCI wireless adaptor in his T-40 before updating his bios.

On boot/restart he gets this error: Error 1082 Unauthorized network card is plugged in- Power off and remove the mini-pci network card.

Well I guess I could do that but is there anyway to update the bios in this state? I think the answer is no but maybe someone knows how.

Thanks Zeitgeist for the suggestions.

After looking at those links I thought I'd just go through the screwdriver route to pull out temporarily the card, then flash the Bios and then install the card again. Everything now works fine.
