I was thinking about to made a watercooling element from copper or aluminium sized a laptop, under the laptop. I had a selfmade watercoolingsystem in my previous desktop pc.

I'm a little skeptic for those cooling systems with two fans. Aren't they a bit noisy?

My R52 doesn't really need any external cooling solutions, but as semi-engineer it's nice to plan different types of projects :D

I don't think it will work very well. May cool your lap - but not the laptop.

My solution was actually ment only for on the table use, so no lapcooling available this time :)

Sorry - I mean the one on ebay. Your solution actually sounds interesting.
:)

I was able to cool my laptop by using fans in the ultrabay. However - I think modifying the CPU fan to be manually externally adjustable and perhaps venting the case more might work even better - since currently it's acting like a heat trap. With most of the heat from the CPU, Northbridge, and graphics chip. I did consider water cooling - but it's a trade-off of mobility at some point.

I also found the claims of Artic Silver are real and it does work well.

It's nice to hear experiences of thermalpastes. As soon upgrading 512->2x512 memory settings, i have to also check the inner life of this piece of technic beauty :)
