Can't wait ....

Ordered H6U on 10/12. 512mb, mini-dock, extra 9-cell, a/b/g wireless, Office Pro, etc. Mini-dock has shipped, rep said rest won't take more than 2 weeks. First Thinkpad after about 5 years and 3 Dells. Looking around for an additional 1gb stick to put it it when it arrives. Thanks to this thread for pointing out it comes standard with Bluetooth, that was the clincher for me.

I bought a 1gig stick from NewEgg (crucial brand) for $120 shipped and it works perfectly. I ran memtest86 and MS Ram Diagnostics and no problems whatsoever.

you're going to love your H6U - it's a HUGE step up from anything Dell has to offer.

I went ahead and ordered the Crucial 1gb from Newegg. This seems to be the most recommended memory for the TP's and I figured no sense in trying to save $10 on a $2000+ computer.

This machine hasn't arrived yet, but I did a parts lookup and got the NMB keyboard and Hydis display. Those are the good ones, right? It seems that this 2373H6U is the one to buy...

(According to the UPS site, the machine is waiting for customs clearance before going into the warehouse, or something of that sort. Sounds like a bit of delay, alas.)

That's the keyboard and display that I got with my 2373H6U, and they are excellent. The screen seems to be very bright, and the keyboard has a great feel to it.

That's so odd. I've seen references to that in other posts, yet certain deliveries, like mine, seemed to not have that issue at all.

My T42p has been 'stuck' in customs clearance for 5 days!! seems that lots of people are waiting for their ThinkPads. I called UPS and they only said that the products were being 'tested,' which I assume means tested for contraband or some such thing.

Mine takes the cake. The T42 has been "warehoused" in Louisville since the past 7-8 days!! The UPS guys told me that it had been mis-directed to an incorrect destination. The expected delivery date: this weekend (hopefully :))

my delay was caused by the FDA testing for Bird Flu!!! I guess it makes sense since the packages are coming from Asia. That's what the Lenovo guy told me and I just checked and saw this entry:

Oct 19, 2005 4:15 P.M.
LOUISVILLE, KY, US
WAREHOUSE ENTRY CLEARANCE DETAILS, NECESSARY FOR CUSTOMS CLEARANCE, HAVE BEEN REQUESTED FROM THE RECEIVER;BROKERAGE RELEASED SHIPMENT. SHIPMENT IS SUBMITTED TO CLEARING AGENCY FOR FURTHER CLEARANCE

Oct 19, 2005 4:15 P.M.
LOUISVILLE, KY, US
PACKAGE WAS DELAYED BY A FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION HOLD.
