Wireless G PCMCIA & Internal IBM Wireless Adapter

#1 Post by kjarrett » Thu Jul 01, 2004 9:10 pm

Hi everyone,

I have just set up my T30 and love it. I installed all the drivers including the one for the IBM high-rate wireless card. As expected however I wanted to go "G" with my DLink DWL-G650 PCMCIA card. I have it all working but to do so I had to disable the drivers for the IBM card. It kept detecting my wireless LAN and interfering.

With the IBM card disabled, things work great, but it appears I have also disabled my modem. Can I just disable the wireless part? Or is there another fix?

Thanks, kj

How did you disable the wireless? Did you disable it in Control Panel>System>Device Manager? You should be able to disable the wireless and modem individually. Just right click on the wireless device and disable.

Yes that is exactly what I did. The description says "IBM high-rate wireless plus modem II" or something similar. However I also see an entry under "Modems" which appears to indicate there is a Lucent modem installed (and is working properly according to DM). I don't know which one I have. How do I tell? Thanks

Disregard - the modem works great - I was thrown off by the reference to "Modem II" in device manager! THANKS
