Best Screenshot Software?

#1 Post by cruzlite » Thu Sep 29, 2005 10:42 pm

I am currently using Broderbund 5.0....
Not happy with the quality of sreenshots...
Broderbund has a newer release, I believe to be in the 40$ range...

Anybody using something they are happy with? (Preferrably cheaper)...

Thanks

I use HyperSnap-DX on occasion. It seems to work pretty well although the version I have is several years old. My version is shareware that puts a banner across the screenshot unless you upgrade and buy it. Current price is $35 US.

snag-it might be one of the most popular screenshot software out there:

I still use ScreenSeize on the occasions when the PrtSc key doesn't cut it - a simple little program that was one of the examples in Charles Petzold's "Programming Windows 95" book.

I've been using microsoft onenote and really liking it.

Rough around the edges as any MS 1.0 but still easy to use and more enhanced screens shot that prtscr

Amazon has it for $29 after rebate, so it's about the same as the other offerings but has much much more than just a screen shot capability.

OneNote is a decent screengrab, but I use PrintScreen almost always.

There are several screen capture tools listed at http://lists.thedatalist.com/pages/Screen_Capture.htm, some of them free. You should find something suitable there.

You could also just do a PrtScr, then go into PAINT, do a PASTE. There u will see your screen. You can save it, print it or what ever.

I've been a big fan of this program for 6 or 7 years.

Many thanks for your generous replies...
have not had time to do much more than cursory investigation of some of the suggestions...

irfanview does ring a bell...I seem to remember that it's creator wrote some programs for graduate work in Denmark or Sweden...
