anyone running vista on the x41?

#1 Post by livejazz » Fri Sep 30, 2005 11:13 am

Hi,

before i go and destroy my system, i wanted to see if anyone else can tell me how well vista runs on their x41, and if they can get the full 3d aero graphics to work.

with system memory shared with the cpu on the graphics card i am a little worried.

also, do the x41's only come with one type of graphics card, that is gma 900?

I'm not running it yet, and I suspect that few are, but I would really love to hear how it works for you. Could you post your thoughts post install for us or PM or email me privately?

Thanks!

Some get blue screens referring to video but are ultimately able to install and have all devices detected and functioning, even wireless, on X41s. This goes for both beta 1 and the MS PDF release (5219).

I don't think you get the full AERO on the X41.

Moreover, I don't think this OS is near ready for prime time yet and I wouldn't recommend wiping your factory preload for the builds so far.

I installed it, and it works great. No aero, but that's OK. 1GB of memory. Not unhappy at all.
