Are you talking about the ONE screw (comes in slotted or hex head) that seats the cover on from the outside of the laptop, or the 4 small screws that keep the HDD caddy in place and screws directly into the HDD?

If you're talking about the ONE screw, in order to get it from IBM, you have to order the entire "screw kit." At least, that's been my experience. These have always been in high demand and often don't come with a used laptop you buy on eBay or elsewhere...sorry I don't have any more of these left. I do however have several of the other, smaller screws I could send you for free if you'll IM me with your address.

I would be very grateful for one......I'm talking about the one that holds the hard drive to the computer itself.....

would anyone know the size i should look for? I'm going to look around at hardware stores to see what I can find. Not too many places open around here.

Go to a Hobby store (your best bet)
I don't remember exact size.
Bring your drive or laptop with you and you can get exact fit.
(I'm thinking it was 2.5 or 3 mm)
I will check later today

Some hardware stores sell metric screws too. To find the size, look at the hardware manual (I believe links are in the thinkpads.com FAQ

Yeah, wouldn't you know, the hardware maintenance manual doesn't say what size it is. I guess you should take the TP to the store with you....

Although the HMM doesn't give the size, but it does say it's a coin screw. My TP T22 is also missing one, and thans everyone for their suggestions. I'll check the hobby stores and hardware stores.
