T23 with a haywire kb character map

#1 Post by CoombsGuy » Mon Oct 03, 2005 12:50 am

Just got this refurbished T23 2647 8MU Win XP, upgraded to SP2 and ran the Access Thinkpad upgrades from IBM. Now my kb is slightly wonky ie the tilde ~ is now elicited by the backslash key. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? The device manger says there is a Standard 101/102 key or PS2 type driver installed.
Thanks
Other than the above weirdness seems like a first class machine
cheers

How can I get the key characters mapped back to the original? Any ideas as to why the OS identifies the keyboard (in Control Panel ->Keyboard->Keyboard Properties) as Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft PS/2 Keyboard and that the location of it is plugged into thekeyboard port.
pitb
thanks for all the help

Have you looked in: Start > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Languages > Details...? Does everything look right there?

You had the right idea. The box for 'Install files for complex script...' had been checked.
Thanks a lot bud!
