Open Power Manager and review this third/last tab.

It depends on which model T4x you have. All T4x models that have been updated with relatively recent BIOS versions will show you the battery details in the Thinkpad Configuration utility...... select System Information and then click on the Battery Information tab.

T43 models will also show battery information in the Power Manager utility.

^ Correct ... I'd forgotten about that.

I have a T41 and the Power Manager shows Battery Information. But will not "reset battery gauge" - had to condition a 2 year old battery in my T43.

since 2004-07

keeping the battery 50-60% charged is a good way of using the battery
