Hello all,

I would like to buy a IBM Thinkpad but i wonder if it's a better thing to wait the next t4xp??

perhaps, it will add the latest Yonah cpu?!

if someone can help me to take a decision...

If you can wait, it's wise for you to wait for Yonah CPU. The current T43p has its fan on as long as your computer is on. so it's not really dead silent. Also it has 2010Error, in case you ever want to replace your HDD in the future, it may give you a bit of headache.

Or you can get T42 which you can be sure that it's still made by IBM, high quality, everyone seems to be happy with T42. Also,You never know when Lenovo could degrade the quality of Thinkpad in the future.

What's your current laptop specs? What kind of work will you be working with your laptop. if word processing, excel is your main program to use then get T42, you will be happy. or X41 tablet.

ok thanks.

Now I have a d400 Latitude Dell but the screen is too little for me (12").

Now, i would like to have a laptop, which can "replace" a desktop.

As i am a student in Switzerland, i can buy Thinkpad for less money ( www.rabais-etudiant.ch )

perhaps, i will wait for the next t4xp if i can buy it in march 2006.

Try and get a T42. Ideal for most people, especially students! No point in waiting....

Nothing wrong with the T43p for me. It is an outstanding performer. I could not ask for anything more than what it offers.

Note that you can't make everyone happy and you will see complaints about even the best hardware from someone. The one who are enjoying do not post/complain/praise as much as the ones who are very happy.
