T23 LCD redish on the left side after turning LCD on

#1 Post by baraider » Mon Oct 03, 2005 11:27 pm

The symptom only appears since last week or so.
The LCD is a SXGA+

There is a redish tint on the lower left of the LCD when i open the LCD after I closed (standby, not shutdown) it for a while

The redish tint disappears after couple minutes of using it.

Is this a need for a new backlight?

Yeah, I have changed a few of these. The amount of difficulty depends on who made the LCD panel. Some are easy and some are NOT!
I did an XGA T23 a few weeks ago and it was middle of the road in difficulty.
Go here: http://www.lcdpart.com/doc/ccflmeasure.html to see how to measure your lamp.
Go here: http://www.lcdpart.com/doc/ccflcross.html for a cross reference by panel number.
Go here: http://www.lcdpart.com/doc/ccfl.html for prices.
I bought an MS20290 for the T23. It was under $20.00 delivered. They do a nice job of packaging. Pretty fast delivery.

For the price a shop will charge to install it you could buy a used good panel. If you can't do the work yourself there is no savings. Just buy another panel.
