What motherboard for model x 600E (mmc1 or mmc2?)

Older ThinkPads.. from the 600, the 7xx, the iSeries, 300, 500, the Transnote and, of course, the 701

Is it possible to know if a 600E has MMC1 or MMC2 by using the model number? Thanks

The 600 uses the MMC-1 processor card.

Some do, some don't. I had a 600E that didn't, but I added one. If you are interested, you need to get TV Out card 10L1192, and Video cable 05K2821.

The opening is on the right side of the base, near the front. If you don't have the TV Out card, you will see a plug in the small round hole. To install the card you have to remove the keyboard, and a plastic insert. Plug in the card, and trim the insert so that it will fit. Be carefull with the ribbon connectors for the keyboard and also for the speakers (2 connectors total). Also be careful when replacing the keyboard, because it is easy to damage the ribbon cable connector for the speakers with the LED plastic inserts in the keyboard top bezel. The following manual should prove useful.
