Carrying T42p in a messenger bag/backpack

#1 Post by umneydurak » Fri Oct 07, 2005 5:05 pm

Hi.
I have T42p 15' laptop. I have ogio bag with a seperation for a laptop at the back. I would like to get a sleeve to protect my laptop. Problem is most sleeves I found are just folders made out of thick material. So if I put my backpack down all the books are still llye directly on top of a laptop. I'm looking for something that will protect against that but also have enough padding to protect against impacts. Does such a thing exists?

Thx.

Highly recommend Waterfield bags at http://www.sfbags.com/products/sleeveca ... ecases.htm

I have a vertical sleevecase (size 11 case) for my 14' T42. It's incredibly snug and fits well in my backpack. I don't need to worry about it getting dinged.

Yeah I saw it in my search. Problem is it won't protect my laptop from books lying on top. What I mean is that the laptop will have to support the weight of them. I'm looking for a sleeve that will support the wieight of the books. I hope I'm being clear.

Unfortunately, I haven't found exactly what we're looking for.

Look at the Booqbags sleeves, or maybe a shinza sleeve.

Hopefully one of these is what you are looking for.

I actually have the Booq bag for my T43, and while somewhat rigid I wouldn't want to stack to many books on it. Lets simply say that it is not that rigid. I would stack two large textbooks on it, but that is probably a good limit. However, I do use it within a relatively uncushioned backpack (and it has all the weight of all the books on it as it is closest to the back), and it seems to do its job well.

This is what you're looking for: the sides on this thing are very rigid so it can take some serious weight without 'crushing' your T

to lay down a couple textbooks on to of any laptop seems sketchy in itself, and possibly risky towards the structure of a laptop, no matter what it is made out of. personally , i'd get a new bag, beacuse i don't think it's worth the possible damange to place a textbooks right on to of my laptop.
