This is why it's essential to call IBM/Lenovo IMEDIATELY after your laptop is stolen.

Or any manufacturer. I've heard these stories from others, including Apple. This individuals case even made the news.

They keep it on record, and train their phone staff for this stuff.

And using a boot password is good too... because they will need tech support's help to "reset" it... hence a call, and giving the SN.

Good to hear the thief got what was coming to him and hopefully the thinkpad was reunited with its owner.
