I bought one from here for my daughter last December. I have made other purchases from them as well. They have been in business in New York City since 1971.

JR.com (formerly J&R Music World and J&R Computer World)

EDIT: BTW, I dig your sig. :D

Give them a call...better to talk to Len (919)468-3999
We've bought literally 20 or so T22 or T23's from him and have had great service and no issue.

And they're often available from IBM too.
I looked the other day and there was one for $545us (IIRC) and I think it had a 6 mo warranty.

4.)X23
5.)R40

If size and weight aren't much of a factor, the R-series will give more features for the same price.

If size and weight are the most important factors, the X-series trumps in this. The biggest drawback of the X-series (IMHO) is that there is no optical (CD or DVD) drive built in. You have to use an external optical drive.

The T-series is the top-of-the-line (IMHO). Small, light, and full of features.

In that case, you might also consider a clean A-series with a 15" display.
I wouldn't want a smaller display for a DTR (DeskTopReplacement).
The A30 was a great machine in my experience.
I upgraded mine with a bigger, faster hard drive and 2x256 Crucial cas2 RAM and it worked very well.
My current A31p is the best DTR ever IMO.

Yeah, nice ones are getting rare.
Our own Bill Morrow might help or Bruce Markowitz maybe.
You could post WTB (WantToBuy) in the ForSale forum.
Or Google for it....

Oh yeah, the R-series is OK too.
It's not an Axxx, but good none the less.
I set up an R40 recently and liked it.

If you are interested, I have the A30 I'm selling. i decided to keep the T22 that I have and fix it. Also, the A30 is still under warranty until Feb 2006. The outfit where I bought this from must've gotten them from an off-company lease.

I don't think Bill deals in older models, but Bruce may have just what he needs. Bruce wouldn't see a Want-to-buy note here since he mainly hangs out on the mailing list rather than this forum. His contact info is scosgt@worldnet.att.net Bruce is... crusty but honest and reliable.

ahahahaha...an understatement on both accounts :D

I've gotten 3 or maybe 4 machines from Bruce and can't recommend him highly enough. All the units exceeded his description and my expectations and are still going strong.
